Nearby Gamers, and a Get Together
Hey, fellow midsouth-area gamers.

A few years ago when I got back into the RPG hobby, a had a terrible time finding other gamers. Fortunately, I did, and now I've got more gaming on my plate than I can handle, almost.

I corresponded with someone here awhile back about trying to organize a casual meetup/get-together for RPG gamers in the area. Think of it as a meet-and-greet, and we could certainly do some gaming of some kind. I'm sure that there are people out there looking for other gamers.

If I can drum up enough interest, I'll see if I can organize a gamer get together soon.

Also, I registered on http://nearbygamers.com/ which helped me to locate other gamers in the area!

I don't know if there's any activity in this community, but are there any gaming events going on in Memphis?

call for gamers
Hi folks,

I'm desperately looking for some people willing to let me run a game for them.

For the sake of brevity, here is my nerdy gamer resume http://slithytoves.sytes.net/~jerm/game_resume.html

I'm not much of a D&D guy, but I am interested in alot of really cool games :)

Failing all of that, is anyone running any fun games out there?

Memphis Gamers Website
tnjade's post reminds me that I needed to post up my yearly notice.

Getting in touch with gamers around Memphis is a pain in the rear end, to say the least.  Though we have a new shop in town (and I wish them the best of luck), they don't tend to stay around very long.  That's why I created a community website a little over a year ago and have given it a pretty healthy facelift to boot.  Memphis Gaming Info is a website I started in hopes of bringing more gamers together, both whom are looking for games and those who wish to run them.  I have also been keeping up a calendar of events with the public groups such as FORGE, Adeptus Memphis, Riverbluff Irregulars, and Mid South Strategy Board Gamers that I come across in hope of giving people a place to go game whenever they get the urge.

So drop on by the website and hopefully you'll find it helpful for your gaming pleasures.  Anything you can suggest to improve the look, functionality, or feature-set is always appreciated.  I'm also looking for local groups who are open to people in the public coming in such as those listed above.  Have a good one!

Church of Satan: Bingo Every Friday!
Does anyone in Memphis play Illuminati, by Steve Jackson Games? I have literally hundreds of spare cards from back when I worked at Babbage's, years ago, and I've never actually played the game.

Yeah, it's an oldie, but no harm in asking, right?

Munchkin Madness
Hi there!

Terribly sorry to bother you guys with this, but we just created a community for the card game Munchkin, and since this community has 'munchkin' listed as interest we were hoping you'd be interested in our community as well. That is, if you meant the card game when adding that interest, ha ha.

Basically, we'll be talking about news, strategies, questions regarding rules, tips, and possible meetings to play. We started out with a group of friends who adore the game, but hope to grow and become larger in time.

Would you like to take a look and consider joining munchkin_sjgame? Thank you! :)

Love, Cherry.

Looking for a game?
Looking for a game?

A new gaming group is forming, and we are looking for people to join. Wayne Camp & Crystal Goff are looking for mature gamers to join them every Wednesday (time and place is negotiable) for gaming fun and friendship.

Wayne is currently working on a variant Dragonlance D20 campaign. The game was run for over 10 years by Willie Young; a good friend of ours who passed away unexpectedly a couple years ago. The game world is vast and very detailed, and we are looking forward to experiencing it once again. You will enjoy it too, I promise.

Crystal is our resident “Star Wars Goddess”, and runs the occasional Star Wars D20 game.

We very much welcome other GM’s too.

We also enjoy games other than RPG’s; such as board games, card games, miniature games…if it’s a game, we play it.

It’s been almost a year since we have been able to enjoy a regular gaming group on a regular night…so please, e-mail me at lostgamers@yahoo.com if interested.

Greyhawk (NOT LG)
Cool community! Glad to be here. :-)

I've been to several FORGE meetings (the first one, as a matter of fact, a LONG time ago)... very nice folks, and I had a good time, but there seems to be a serious Living Greyhawk bias. Nothing against Living Greyhawk, but is anyone interested in a conventional (more or less) Greyhawk campaign?

In my personal journal, there's been some talk about the Herald's DM test on the WOTC site. We want to get this community up and running, so I'd like to open the floor to gaming stuff. Talk about it.

FORGE (Fellowship of Role Gaming Enthusiasts) is hosting a gameday this Saturday at the Collierville public library. Please go to Yahoo! and join the forge-club group. Vote in the polls so that they have a count for Saturday. There's a poll for "yes, I'll be there and I want to play...Living Greyhawk, Fjorin's Reach (homebrew), miniatures, etc." and there's one to put the modules you're interested in playing. If you've never been, sign up for all of them. :) It can't hurt. There's always a low-level table, so you can jump in. If you need help creating a character, there's a link off the WOTC site for RPGA or Living Greyhawk that might help out. If not, the FORGErs can help.

good, that was the response i was hoping for.

anyway, i'm about to go get some sleep. i was recently introduced to pen and paper rpg's and i want more. the group i played with that one time is an unacceptable crowd for me because of reasons i won't disclose. anyway, i'm a total newbie and need help with everything, but i want to play in a campaign with good, fun-loving people. if there is anyone that can help me, please do. but be nice, like i said, i'm a total newbie.
